FloodSafe
State Emergency Service volunteers and staff helping to protect your family, business and property before, during and after floods
The State Emergency Service is responsible for dealing with floods in New South Wales. This includes planning for them and educating people about how to protect themselves and their property.
During a flood, SES volunteers are responsible for flood safety advice, evacuation, rescue, and the provision of essentials to people cut off by flood waters.
Flooding causes an average of $128 million of damage in NSW annually. It is important to be aware of any flood risk that might exist where you:
- live;
- have property;
- run livestock;
- operate a business; or
- work.
